My first day as a new SendOutCards distributor.
Today marks day one, my very first day of many to come in this new venture. I need to start by saying this wasn’t a decision I made lightly either. A lot of research and preparation has gone into this. I - like so many others who are tired of failing with network marketing – decided this time I would take the time to learn more about the company and what I feel has been the most important decision is being able to choose my upline.
I’m not going to blame all my past failures on my upline, but I can tell you this much, not having the right person behind you makes it a lot tougher. If you’re wondering about why I chose SOC, or what I did to research, you’ll have to wait for the new site, sorry. I wanted to get this journal started so I don’t put it off
I signed up at 12:30 pm MST with SendOutCards, my upline sponsor is Robert Fore (THANKS so much Robert) and if you read one of the previous posts you will see my plea for a SOC mentor. (more about that later) Rob was exactly the type of person I was looking for and I have Melissa Eaton to thank for alerting Rob to my need for a sponsor.
Shortly after signing up Rob sent me an email welcoming me to the team, and had a great quick start set of instructions. I liked the fact that he added a personal greeting to the email before giving me the instructions that are part of his normal follow up. I’m not apposed to automation at all, but whenever you have the chance to add a personal touch it just makes for a better start.
I know some of the reasons my past venture failed was due to my desire to create a better wheel, so this time I am going to do my best to follow the tried and true, proven path of those before me. Of course I already have some extra stuff up my sleeves that I plan to put into action, but I already know it will only complement what Rob and other top earners have done to reach their success. (part of my research was to look for a match to my plan)
I called and chatted with Rob for a bit so we could become acquainted and I can tell right away that I made the right choice to sign up under Rob. His idea of running the business with what is comfortable for me is a refreshing welcome. I have been so frustrated with previous upline sponsors who try and push the old school marketing tactics of network marketing, stating you have to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and grow thick skin because you’ll have to learn to deal with rejection or the word NO.
WHY? has always been my question, why does it have to be like that. I have always felt there was a better way of doing things, and so many people like Rob have proved there is.
Anyway … the rest of my day for SOC consisted of working my way through the action steps set forth by Rob’s training system. It’s designed to get me familiar with the system so I can be confident showing it to others.
I’m currently in the process of adding contacts into the system so I can start sending cards … part of me wants to stay up all night and get through these initial steps, but reluctantly I must reserve some time to sleep so I’m not a cranky bear around my family.
As I sign off, I’ll leave you with a link to check the system out yourself – send a free card on me
Enjoy … Scott
